Do you accept my health insurance?
We are an out-of-network provider for all insurances, including Medicare. To find out about your out-of-network benefits, call the customer service number on your insurance card and inquire about your chiropractic coverage.
What does that mean for you?
After you have received and paid for your care at Lerner Chiropractic, your insurance will be sent a claim form detailing the services that were provided. Within weeks, your insurance company will then send you an “Explanation of Benefits” detailing which services your policy covers and provide YOU with a check payment for all covered services.
Why are you not an in-network provider for my insurance policy?
Being an out-of-network provider allows us to keep our pricing reasonable and our payment process simple. Insurance policies vary widely in coverage of services, deductible amounts, copay amounts, and network policies and procedures. By collecting payment in full at the time of service, there is never misunderstanding between the doctor and the patient about the cost of the service and no looming doctors bills to worry about showing up in the mail. The high quality of care in our office is the same regardless of whether you do or do not have insurance.
Medicare
We do accept Medicare as a “non-participating physician.” This means that we collect the full amount of your visit charges at the time of service and then send in your Medicare billing for you. Medicare and your secondary insurance policy (if you have one in place) will then reimburse you, based on the details of your health coverage, by sending a check directly to you. Medicare is particular on what chiropractic services they will cover and we will go over these details with you during your first visit.
What if I have been involved in a motor vehicle accident?
You should check with your vehicle insurer as to whether you have “Medpay” benefits on your policy. “Medpay” is a policy benefit that provides payment for medical care after a motor vehicle accident, regardless of fault. First before seeing any medical professional you need to contact your car insurance company and start a claim. Once you have obtained a claim number from your vehicle insurer and the liability insurer, we will be happy to send claim forms of our services.
